Some say this song is about John Legend selling the girl the idea of "de-virginization". For once, I never saw a song in a perverted way. Others say it's a song to woo a girl. I personally think it's a about a couple in a rough, even "pain"ful patch where the guy is pleading with the girl for a little time to work on the relationship, and implying that he can show and give her better than he ever did before- if only she would ease up and let down her guard again.

I do not agree with you in that he is with a girl and want them to work out the relation ship or anything like that. I have listened to this song a hundred times and if you watch the video and listen the song closely you would realize that there are alot of different girls in it. If he was with a steady girl like "Ordinary People" then you could say that. In "Save Room" the different girls signifies different women in his life that he is not committed to. And he keeps telling each of them to save a little room for his love, ha what does that mean now? He just want one thing from them or a little romance but not much more. That's why all he needs is a little room for his love from all these women. To conclude he is a player in this song and only needs a little love not so much to be fully committed to these women.
